Apple: iPhone Release & iOS 16

Many people are currently hating, laughing and making fun of Apple for their new iPhone 14 and its features. But the people who are bad-mouthing Apple all have one thing in common, an Andriod.

Apple, Samsung or Google?

Currently, Apple’s company net worth is $2.504 Trillion (CAKnowledge), while their “biggest” competitor Samsung only has $500 Billion (CAKnowledge). What a joke. Google also started to make phones in 2016 (MUO), the Google Pixel, but at least their in the trillions unlike Samsung, Google’s Current net worth is $1.420 Trillion (CAKnowledge)

iPhone 14 Line-Ups & Pricing

But enough of telling you how much worse Samsung’s are and let’s head on into Apple’s new iPhone. On September 7th Apple unveiled the iPhone 14 lineup along with their other products, new Apple Watch models, and updated AirPods Pros. The iPhone 14 lineup is four different iPhones, iPhone 14 - $1,099 CAD, iPhone 14 Plus - $1,249 CAD, iPhone 14 Pro - $1,399 CAD and lastly iPhone 14 Pro Max - $1,549 CAD (Apple).

iPhone 14 Pro & 14 Pro Max

The iPhone 14 Pro models have outstanding brand new key features that the normal 14 models don’t include, the first feature being an always-on display. The always-on display is very important and amazing for many situations, imagine you’re laying in your bed late at night and you want to check the time, just glance at your iPhone 14 Pro/Pro Max and it’ll tell you the time without even being on. Another example is your driving your car, we all know you're not supposed to be on your phone while driving, but you need your map, well your iPhone will be off but still have the map displayed.

Let’s address the massive thing that people will look at when comparing the iPhone 14 models, the camera and screen. The iPhone 14 Pro & Pro Max have a 48MP Camera which is a huge difference from its other iPhones and previous models, so you can confidently zoom in and out extremely smoothly with its ultra-wide and telephoto lenses with its 6x optical zoom range

(Apple). Apple has also included an action cam and a filming mode for steady videos, with its 4K 60 FPS video quality you’ll never miss a shot (Apple).

The front of the screen is a big statement, with Apple’s new Dynamic Island, which is a front-facing camera that moves and interacts within the software iOS 16 (Apple). The Dynamic Island is hidden on your iPhone whenever you get notifications, calls, play music and more! It’s also reduced from the other front-facing camera notches since the release of the iPhone X/10 where the notch was first unveiled with amazing Face ID (Apple).

Finally, the only thing you’ll need to pick for the iPhone 14 Pro & Pro Max, is the colour. The options for colours are Silver, Gold, and the two new colours Deep Purple & Space Grey.

iPhone 14 & 14 Plus

The iPhone 14 & 14 Plus both have the same camera, its dual-camera system and 12MP ultra-wide camera lens. It’ll still be exceptional for shooting videos and taking pictures, but don’t expect to be taking amazingly detailed and high-quality zoomed photos.

The colours for these two iPhones are Blue, Purple, Midnight, Starlight & Red.

iPhone 14, Plus, Pro, Pro Max

The chipset in all the iPhone 14 models has the A16 Bionic chip for faster performance on high-demand apps, games, streaming videos, and capturing movies. As well as a 5G connection for high internet & data speeds (Apple)!

Also, amazing safety features like crash detection and satellite connectivity for emergencies, if you ever get into a car crash the iPhone 14 models will identify it and send medical help towards your location by connecting to the satellites above (Apple).

Final Thoughts & What iPhone to Pick?

All these amazing features will help you have the best experience on an iPhone with iOS 16, but which one to choose? If you love smaller phones and don’t care for the techy cameras with high zoom quality, go for the iPhone 14, with its 6’1 display which is the same as the iPhone 14 Pro, but it doesn’t have the same amazing features. But for bigger phones and power users go for the top-of-line model iPhone 14 Pro Max and you won’t ever regret it!
